Frankie and Rosemary Chavez are local favorites in the Sedona, Arizona music scene. Having moved from Los Angeles, they bring with them years of professional experience in the club, concert, studio and performance arena.  Upon arriving in Arizona, they formed two very popular music groups “Jazz a’la mode” and PLATINUM.  Jazz a’la mode covers classic standards, Latin and jazz favorites while PLATINUM band covers everything from standards to pop, soft rock, R&B, country and dance music.  These much sought after musicians keep busy playing music at clubs, concerts, festivals and private and corporate events.  Make your next event special by contacting them.

Frankie ChavezFrankie, an accomplished drummer and percussionist, has performed and recorded with numerous artists including Lionel Hampton, Stan Kenton, Woody Herman, Gerald Wilson, Larry Carlton, Dee Dee Bridgewater, Pat Boone, Mitzi Gaynor, Bobby Gentry, Vikki Carr, Willie Bobo, Buddy Collete and the list goes on.   Considered a child prodigy, Frankie not only played drums with Lionel Hampton at age 11 but that same year he was also a child dancer in classic film West Side Story.  His first drum student and friend was Karen Carpenter of The Carpenters.  Frankie’s most recent 2012 tours have been with the Los Angeles based Glenn Miller Orchestra and include an extremely successful seven week tour of Australia, a two week tour of Thailand and the Philippines which included performing at the 2012 Thailand Jazz Festival for members of the Royal Family and in 2011 the Glenn Miller tour took him to Mexico.  Read more about Frankie’s rich history in music under “Biographies”.

Rosemary ChavezAs a professional singer, Rosemary has been singing since she was a small girl in her native Minnesota.  While attending Luther College in Decorah, Iowa, she had the great honor to perform under the direction of world renowned choral conductor Weston Noble with the famed Nordic Choir.  As a Luther Grad, in 2010 she joined the Weston Noble Alumni Choir for a tour of Austria, Germany and the Czech Republic where she was a featured soloist.  Rosemary is comfortable singing numerous styles of music and has sung with leaders of the Stan Kenton Alumni Band, The Harry James Orchestra and the Jimmy Dorsey Orchestra at the Prescott Jazz Festival.  Besides being featured on the Sweet Jazz a’la mode and American Voices CDs, she also has three featured solos on the movie soundtrack CD, ROAR, starring actresses Tippi Hedren and Melanie Griffith.  The ROAR album, released under Festival Records, was a top ten record in Australia.  Check out more about Rosemary under “Biographies”.  (Footnote: In late 2012 HBO released a feature film called “The Girl” depicting Tippi’s relationship with Alfred Hitchcock while working with him on two of his classic films “The Birds” and “Marnie”.)
